Thanks to global warming, or other unknown forces, we have been very lucky to have about the best weather ever in the Washington DC area. Washington, on normal years, experiences extreme humidity from about May through September. An oppressive, heavy, air that hits you like a mattress when you walk out of air conditioning. The kind of air that reminds you that Washington was built on a swamp. While we’ve had unusual rain this summer (so far), we’ve also had the nicest weather for doing just about anything outside.

4th of July weekend was no exception. Family getting together for cookouts and sitting out enjoying conversation, drinks, and food, with hardly a mosquito in sight. We were able to enjoy this weather all the way through Sunday night when the air cooled into the 60s.

If we’re lucky, we’ll forget was “code red air” means for a while…
